Handmade ceramic are often just as strong as commercially produced ones, however, their irreplaceability asks for a little more care.
While most of our pieces are dishwasher and microwave safe, to retain the quality of your piece and ensure longevity, hand washing with a non-abrasive cloth or sponge in warm soapy water is recommended. If you do put your ceramics in the dishwasher we recommend using a powder over tablets as they are generally more gentle.
Avoid placing in extreme hot or cold environments such as an oven or freezer, as this could cause thermal shock and result in cracking and/or breakage.
Unglazed sections of ceramics or those with matte glazes may stain over time. This will be more noticeable if used for particularly acidic, oily or bright coloured foods (such as red sauce or beetroot). Tea and coffee stains usually come out of pots when washed with a slightly abrasive sponge or when washed in the dishwasher.
We hope you enjoy your handmade ceramics for years to come. If you have any questions on how to care for your ceramics, please get in touch.
